Syed Haider Ali said that school fees are very sensitive, private schools in Sindh are teaching more than 33 million children.

He further added that private schools are already providing 10% free education, schools cannot reduce fees by 20%, the court will challenge the reduction of private schools by 20%.

Kashif Mirza, president of All Pakistan Private Schools Associations, also said that he would approach the court against the government's decision.

It is pertinent to mention that on the directives of the Minister of Education, Sindh Saeed Ghani, the Directorate of Education of the Department of Private Institutions has issued a directive to all private schools to get 20% discount on the April and May fees.

According to Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani, the concession has been given to the convenience of the people due to the lockdown in the province due to the corona virus.

"A few days ago, we instructed all private schools to give parents a discount, but now all the students have been instructed to exempt 20 percent of the fees for up to 2 months," he said.

According to the notification issued by the Directorate of Private Institutions in this regard, all private educational institutes across the province will provide 20% mandatory concession in the April and May fees of their students and any school will employ any teaching or non-teaching staff during that time. The teachers and non-teaching staff will have to pay full salaries in the meantime.

The notification also states that there will be action against the violating educational institutions and if the teachers wish to register their grievances, the Directorate of Private Institutions can Sindh.
