The government has decided to set up 14 intensive care units (CCUs) equipped with all modern equipment across Sindh province.

According to details, in a statement issued on Saturday, provincial agriculture minister Mohammad Ismail Rahu has said that all the vegetable markets of the province will be closed from 12 pm to 12 pm and will be open from 12 am to 12 pm. Reducing fruit and vegetable delivery will not matter.

He further said that business in the vegetable markets will be open till 12 am, the decision is to protect the buyers and workers from the spread of corona virus from the vegetable markets; auction and purchase of fruits and vegetables in vegetable markets till 12 o'clock. Can be done.

Mohammed Ismail Rahu said that unnecessary rush and crowds are already banned in the markets; vegetable markets will be open for 12 to 24 hours to result in lockdown.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that he has decided to set up 14 intensive care units (CCUs) equipped with all devices across Sindh. One of them will be in Karachi.

He made this announcement while presiding over the 31st meeting of the Task Force on Corona Virus in Chief Minister House. In the meeting, Health Minister Dr Ausra Fazal Pachoho, Municipal Minister Nasir Shah, Advisor to Law Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, IG Police Mushtaq. The participants attended.

Murad Ali Shah said that during the ongoing lockdown, we will have to strengthen our health facilities. He said that a CCU of 100-200 beds will be established in the city and 13 CCUs of 600 beds will be set up in different districts of the province.

He directed the Secretary Health to equip the CCU with ventilators, monitors, pulse oximeters, suction machines, compressor ventilated beds and provide them with 850 medical officers, 1320 nurses, ICU technicians and necessary staff.

Murad Ali Shah said that the CCUs set up in the city should have 200 ventilators, 200 monitors, 200 pulse oximeters, 50 suction machines, 20 defibrillators and 50 compressors. They should have 100 doctors, 200 nurses, 75 ICU technicians and 120 support staff.

Chief Minister Sindh was informed that coronavirus isolation case administration facilities are available in 45 hospitals in the province. The 45 hospitals have 505 beds where 294 patients are admitted and 291 are medically stable and 14 of them have recovered and have been discharged.

Corona Virus: Chief Minister Sindh was informed that there were 469 Corona cases in Sindh. These include 189 in Karachi, 7 in Larkana, one in Dadu, 7 in Hyderabad and 162 in Sukkur (151 of Sukkur Phase 1 and 14 of Sukkur Phase II).

The meeting was informed that a total of 5322 tests have been conducted so far, out of which 4835 came out negative and 469 positive.

Chief Minister Sindh said that 12 new cases were reported in Karachi on Saturday, while the number of new cases was 17 on March 27. The figures show that local transmission cases have reached 132.

IG Police Mushtaq Mahar informed the Chief Minister of Sindh about the lockdown, especially regarding closing of shops and other small business activities which closed at 5pm on Saturday.

He said the shopkeepers were informed by the police to close their shops by 5 pm. Murad Ali Shah strongly directed the IG police not to offend or humiliate anyone.

"You should gently ask people to go back to their homes and take action against them in the face of resistance, otherwise the honor of every person, including children, should never be harmed," he said.
