He issued these directives to the Health Department while presiding over the 31st meeting of the Task Force on Corona Virus in the Chief Minister's House today.current world news

"During the ongoing lockdown, we have to strengthen our health facilities," said Murad Ali Shah.

He directed the Health Department to set up 14 new CCUs in the province, one in Karachi and 13 in other densely populated districts.current world news

Murad Ali Shah said that a CCU consisting of 100 to 200 vent beds in the city and 13 CCUs with 600 vent beds will be set up in different districts of the province.

He directed the Secretary Health to equip the CCU with ventilators, monitors, pulse oximeters, suction machines, compressors and provide them with 850 medical officers, 1320 nurses, ICU technicians and necessary staff. ۔

The Chief Minister was informed that corona virus isolation case administration facilities are available in 45 hospitals in the province.

The 45 hospitals have 505 beds where 294 patients are admitted and 291 are medically stable and 14 of them have recovered and have been discharged.

The Chief Minister was informed that there were 469 Corona cases in Sindh. These include 189 in Karachi, 7 in Larkana, one in Dadu, 7 in Hyderabad and 162 in Sukkur (151 of Sukkur Phase I and 14 of Sukkur Phase II).

The meeting was informed that a total of 5322 tests have been conducted so far, out of which 4835 came out negative and 469 positive.

Murad Ali Shah said that the data of 429 cases shows that there were 265 visitors ie 62 were present, 13% ie 54 people came from other countries and 110 ie 25% were from local transmission.

He said the local proportion of transmission is critical and needs to be remedied.

IG Sindh Police Mushtaq Mahar informed the Chief Minister about the lockdown, especially regarding closing of shops and other small business activities which closed at 5pm on Saturday.

He said the shopkeepers had been informed by the police to close their shops by 5 pm, everyone was informed about the government decision.

Murad Ali Shah strongly instructed the IG police not to offend or humiliate anyone.

"You should gently tell people to go back to their homes, only to act against them in the face of resistance, otherwise everyone's honor, including children, should never be harmed," he said.
